Great Gatsby
If
your big day includes any glitz and glam, may we roll out the culinary
red carpet Gatsby style? Guests receiving an invitation to a Gatsby wedding will be
instantly captivated, wondering about the decadent meal they'll be savoring. Our take on the novel suggests two ways to go with this exciting theme: Picnic on the lawn
Have
beautiful fabric squares spread out on various parts of the venue lawn.
Remember to provide tables for at least half of your guests. Your
elderly Grandma, young parents with a baby in tow, and your cousin who
may wear a dress too awkward to sit on a blanket. Menu selections
include cold cuts, ham sandwiches, deviled eggs, cold chicken in
beautiful baskets, and several hearty salads. Offering local micro brews
to wash down this heavy and delectable old fashioned food will
perfectly complement the menu. Roaring Opulence
Champagne
is a must--and martinis--for a truly Fitzgeraldesque affair. Complementary, decadent bite size morsels for
the first course, followed by a seafood course. Lobster is preferred,
and if your budget whines just a tad, instead of providing a tail for
every guest, consider a lobster bisque, lobster tartlets, or even a
Lobster Louie. Poultry and game are also on the menu at a true Gatsby
gathering. In northern California, duck, elk, and bison are readily
available. Fill in the blanks with some of
our incredible salads and whatever you do, do NOT forgo our amazing
dessert station. Mini cakes are a must, and our Pink Champagne Cakelets
are to die for.

Burlap and Lace
This lasting style is perfect for the quintessential rustic/outdoor events in the redwoods and orchards of northern California. Mason jars and burlap hallmark this style. Many couples mix and match their favorite foods with this relaxed elegance or casual country theme, including unexpected Indian Curry, breakfast for dinner, and taco stations. Whether it's a "camo & pink" theme or succulents in tea cups, the following menu in a variety of combinations wins the hearts of even their most selective guests: Tender Tri Tip, either on it's own or wrapped around roasted vegetables in a delectable bundle (see photo grid) Grecian Rubbed Chicken Wild Caught Salmon Bundles wrapped in Banana Leaves Skewers Roasted Vegetables Bacon Wrapped Asparagus or Green Beans Some will select one or more salads: Shredded kale with parmesan Caesar Marche (greens with grapes, candied nuts, and gorgonzola) Spinach with Blueberries and Feta Garden Greens Islander Carrot and Cashew Salad Roasted Root Vegetable Ribbon Salad And there is ALWAYS some sort of potato. We love our Twice Baked Potatoes as a hearty vegetarian option, and our Parsley Buttered Potatoes are delectable as well. Some couples get crazy with a Mashed Potato Martini Bar, while others go with a lower key version and offer our down home Mashed Potato Bar with all the toppings your guests could dream of. This traditional menu has been modified, customized, and tweaked in more ways than we can count, so if your dream wedding includes the great outdoors or mason jars, we strongly recommend this menu in some personalized form or another.
Ever Expanding Vegan Menu!
With today's health conscious and eco-groovy populations expanding at a voracious rate, the nutrivores at Sweet Basil Catering couldn't be more delighted to widen our vegan horizons for guests throughout the Northern California region. What used to be a hummus platter with blanched vegetables and pita in terms of standard vegan party fare has now become a wide range of delectables including our scrumptious stuffed portabello mushrooms, roasted root vegetable sallat, stuffed phyllo, quinoa, farro pilaf, and sweet/savory tarts, pies, and cobblers. If you're like us, however, and still salivate at the sight of the humble chickpea, check out our glorious layered Greek Platter in the nearby photo grid.

Nostalgic Vintage
Creating memories with loved ones. What could be more apropos than a vintage wedding to create the kind of nostalgia only vows of deep and lasting love can evoke? For this kind of wedding, think of the classic "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" for inspiration.
Menu ideas could include old fashioned comfort food with a new twist, like our mashed potato martini bar, tomato soup shots with puff pastry bread sticks or grilled cheese sandwich bites, pot roast or turkey with all the trimmings, chicken pot pie, caramel apple pie rosettes, and of course, bacon wrapped EVERYTHING with our Bacon Bar.
Our newest Cocktail Cupcake collection features: Margarita,
Pina Colada, Tequila Sunrise, Greyhound, Sex on the Beach, Screwdriver,
Irish cream, White Russian, and Kamakaze cupcakes!
